APPEAL COMMITTEE’S REPLY TO

FR. RON’S “TRUTHFUL” RESPONSE TO THE

METROWEST NEWS ARTICLE OF APRIL 29, 2005

Air Conditioning: The Appeal Committee did not tell the MetroWest Daily News that the “Archdiocese” had removed the air-conditioning – only that it HAD been removed.  The real questions are: WHY remove the air-conditioning before our last Mass?  It may be a very hot day on May 8th and many parishioners and former parishioners will be present for that important day.  WHY didn’t Fr. Ron explain to us all what HE was doing?  WHY are WE paying for storage for an air conditioning system that can’t presently be used at St. George because that Parish needs “electrical re-wiring to ALL buildings.” (See Fr. Ron’s list on our other flyer).

Rosary for May:   A member of the Appeal Committee DID ask permission for us to say the Rosary beginning May 1st – That’s why IT’S IN THE BULLETIN!  WHY would Fr. Ron not give his assent to his parishioners saying the Rosary beginning May 1st?

Police Department: The Appeal Committee did NOT say that Fr. Ron had any “conversations” with “the Framingham Police about a vigil or about how to thwart a vigil.”  BUT, the Archdiocese has TWICE called local police to arrest any parishioner who planned to oppose the closing of their parish by starting a Vigil.  The local Pastors made those calls.   We each have a right to ask Fr. Ron if he plans to call the police to ask that his parishioners be arrested if we start a Vigil.

Christa McAuliffe Carrillon:   As of Friday, April 29, 2005, no one from the parish or the Archdiocese, including Fr. Ron, had called the Corrigan or McAuliffe families to discuss where THEY want the Carrillon to go IF St. Jeremiah ultimately closes.  Shouldn’t Fr. Ron first ask Grace Corrigan before HE has a conversation about a “possible site?”  We have only two weeks left until the parish is suppressed.  WHY has he not called the family yet?

The Appeal Committee’s integrity has constantly been called into question during this appeal process.  The following are only two instances:

1.  Last fall we were accused of giving “misinformation” about the repairs needed at St. George.   Major Repairs ARE needed at St. George.  Please see the list of repairs that Fr. Ron gave to the Archbishop last week that is on the back of our other flyer.

2.  We were criticized because we raised the issue of handicap access to St. George.  The Pastors told both St. Jeremiah and St. George parishioners that work on the “handicap lift” at St. George would begin April 6th.  Not only has work not begun - St. George does not have the money to complete the project.  AND, as Fr. O’Brien stated in the bulletin last week, it will cost $120,000 plus (because the electrical is not included).  AND, Fr. O’Brien stated that he is applying to the Archdiocese for a loan to fund the project.  Do you think the Archdiocese will give that loan?  WHO will pay for that lift?

YOU be the judge:  WHO is telling the truth?
